Hello friends!! As you may have already realized, we are making a slight shift in the show that we hope will help serve our community. We have always had a mix of sports, laughs, local entertainment, supporting local businesses, etc, but now we will be putting a little more emphasis on being a gathering place for you.
We will host local long form conversations as we go through the next few weeks. People can share their creative solutions for social distancing, the comedy in random situations, challenges, share needs and reach out with concerns; basically, whatever is happening that would be of use or entertainment for our neighbors.
For instance, this morning, we had Caddo Commission member John-Paul Young join us. He shared some really good ideas that could help Shreveport-Bossier make it through this situation easier and healthier. At the end, the noted farm-to-table proponent gave an easy-to-follow map for setting up your own garden at home.
We will still talk sports… for instance, the epicenter of the NFL is Tampa, Florida with the Buccaneers addition of Tom Brady. Greg Auman, who covers the Bucs for The Athletic, took us through the transaction, dispelled a story making the rounds of how Brady was wooed to the Bay, and gave us a review of former North Webster Knight/LSU Tiger Devin White’s monumental rookie season. Excellent conversation with a guy who knows the ins-and-outs of Tampa Bay football.
We are not isolated, we are a fabric of humanity and although we are having to loosen the threads, we are all still connected. That’s why it was painful to hear Jared Beville, of Red River Brewing, detailing the heart-breaking decision to close the doors for the time being.
It’s my belief that we are uniquely qualified to get through this. We will have updates on businesses that are open, including our sponsors who continue to fight the fight.
We have some fun ideas to pass the time as well… get ready for several “tournaments” featuring brackets chocked full of pop culture, great athletes, condiments, sitcoms, etc.
We hope to see you in the mornings from 6-10am on the Tim Fletcher Show on 1130am radio.
